Peer Review Process

Submitted manuscripts undergo an initial evaluation by the handling editor in terms of their relevance to the journal’s scope and compliance with the formal requirements specified in the Author Guidelines.

The Editorial Board reserves the right to reject a manuscript without sending it for review (so-called desk rejection).

Each manuscript submitted for review is evaluated by two independent reviewers affiliated with institutions other than those of the author(s), in accordance with the double-blind review process.

Reviewers provide their opinions in written form (using a review form). Each review includes a clear recommendation expressed by assigning the manuscript to one of the following categories:

  1. acceptance without changes or with minor editorial revisions,
  2. acceptance after addressing minor comments from reviewers and/or the editor,
  3. acceptance after major revisions – this option involves a second round of peer review,
  4. rejection.

The final decision on acceptance or rejection is made by the Editorial Board based on the reviewers’ reports.

In cases of conflicting reviews, a third reviewer is appointed.

Authors are informed by the Editorial Office about the outcome of the review process and any required revisions.

The journal is published annually (one issue per year).
